Halucinatrix Chronicles from Annie's Point of View...

Synopsis
Halucinatrix Chronicles Synopsis

Horrible trauma causes a child's personality to splinter into multiple parts.

Bright ,so bright I couldn't bear the light.Voices all around me.
"Annie,Annie,wake up.It's time to eat."

I sat up and looked around.
Four people stood around my bed looking at me.

"Where am I?" I whispered.

"She can talk!" said a woman in a white coat.

"She's no longer an infant." exclaimed another woman.

A young man in big black glasses said,

"Victor go and find Doctor Loman immediately."

I lay back down and covered my head with a sheet.

Suddenly an awful image filled my mind with fear.I was drowning in a huge tub of water and someone was laughing.

It was so real I started gasping and thrashing about violently.

Though I was submerged,I heard someone calling me.It must be Father coming home to save me.It must be five o:clock .
Strong hands lifted me under my arms and pulled me upwards.
I was saved.

I opened my eyes again and said,

"Oh Father you came.I was so afraid. All the others are gone."

Father said,"Gone,where have they gone?"

My eyes focused on the man sitting beside my bed.

"You're not my father." I said and began to weep.

"What is your name dear?" he said quietly.

I remembered that I had been called Annie but I knew that was not really my name so I didn't answer.

The man reached out and took my hand.
"Don't be afraid." he said."No one will hurt you here.
I want to be your friend. My name is Doctor Loman."

"Where is father?" I asked.

"Tell me his name and I will get him for you." Doctor Loman told me.

I began to weep again because I couldn't remember father's name.

Doctor Loman put his arm around me and said,

"It's alright. We will figure it out.Just relax and don't think about it right now."

He called for a nurse who gave me some kind of shot and I felt much calmer after that. When the nurse started to leave,I called her back.

"What is this place?"I asked."How did I get here?"

"This is the Meadow Stone Sanitarium, sweetie. You were brought here after a hurricane. Now what would you like for lunch?"

Doctor Loman returned after lunch and sat down with a thick folder in his hand.
"Now Annie,is it alright if I call you Annie?"he asked.
I nodded and he continued.

"We want to help you find out who you are .You have been here with us for two years. In that time you have virtually existed as a toddler.Fortunately you have been able to walk around so your muscles have not atrophied.Do you want to ask me anything my Dear?"

I had a million questions but I was having trouble organizing my thoughts.I managed to say,

"can I go home?"

The Doctor smiled and touched my hand.

"First we have to find out where that is don't we.?Do you remember anything?Family names, places, anything?"

"I remember water," I answered,"running water and I was afraid."

The next few days were wonderful.Everyone was so kind to me,as if I had returned from the dead or something. Then gradually life got into a routine and the days went uneventfully past.I moved into a halfway house and began to learn how to survive in the real world. No one knew my age but somewhere in my teens I decided to try and make it on my own.
